2017 Bus Trip - Prince Edward County

On August 19, 2017, 56 Sacred Heartists and guests attended this day trip and explored the natural beauty of Ontario.

12 Noon: "Restaurant on the Knoll" in Isaiah Tubbs Resort, in Picton

Arrived at the Restaurant after 2 hours drive from Richmond Hill.

Grilled Atlantic salmon w/ caper dill butter.

Roast beef.

Pecan pie.

2:00pm: Outlet Beach in Sandbanks Provincial Park, Picton

Outlet Beach not overly crowded even on a Saturday in mid-August.

2:00pm: Cedar Sands Trail in Sandbanks Provincial Park in Picton

Clear blue sky. Temperature @ 22C. Leisure walk along this short trail.

3:00pm : Lake on the Mountain, in Picton

A section of the Bay of Quinte. The Lake & the Bay are separated by a strip of road where tourists park their cars/buses to view the scenery.

5:00pm:The Big Apple in Colbourne. It is a bakery, restaurant and roadside attraction in the community of Colborne, a driving distance of approximately 84 miles eastward from downtown Toronto. It is easily recognizable from the highway by its huge apple-shaped structure, claimed to be the world's largest. With a height of 35 ft and diameter of 38 ft. The site also features a petting zoo, a complimentary miniature golf course, and other amenities.

Returning home with freshly baked apple pies, apple loaves etc available only from The Big Apple.
