2023 Peterborough Day Trip

On Saturday August 26, 2023, a total of 51 participants (2/3 Sacred Heartists with family members, and 1/3 friends) attended this day trip.  Our last day trip was held in 2019. Due to the pandemic, we were unable to host group alumni activities until the COVID restrictions were gradually relaxed.  We're glad to see the happy faces again after such a long break. The sites we visited during this day trip were not crowded at all despite the long weekend.

1)  In the morning, we toured the "Lang Pioneer Village", an outdoor museum located in Keene.  The museum provided us with a piece of Canadian history dated 200 years ago.  For more details about the museum, visit :
https://www.langpioneervillage.ca/
2)  Then we had lunch  at "Berc's Steakhouse" in Peterborough.
3)  After lunch, we visited the "Riverview Park and Zoo", one of the few city owned parks/zoos with free admission for all. For more details about the park, visit :
https://www.riverviewparkandzoo.ca/
4)  Finally, we stopped by "The Big Apple" in Colborne for its popular apple pies before heading back to Toronto. For more details about The Big Apple, visit :  https://thebigapple.ca/
